Hell’s Belles Awarded Team of the Year!

Welwyn Hatfield Sports Awards Team of the Year

Hell’s Belles Roller Girls, has been awarded Team of the Year!  The annual Welwyn Hatfield Sports Awards 2016 ceremony, was held at the Hawthorne Centre on Tuesday 8th March to celebrate inspirational sports teams, pupils and coaches in Welwyn Hatfield.

The award follows the team’s best competitive year to date in 2015.  Strong leadership, top coaching and interminable team spirit saw the Belles finish local grouping undefeated to gain promotion to the next tournament tier for 2016 and climb the European roller derby rankings.

The League’s Chair, Emma Hart said “It was an honour for the team to be nominated against the other local teams in the category. This is an incredible achievement and it would not have been possible without the support of league members, friends, family, those that come along and cheer us on, the teams we play against that inspire us to do better, as well as fantastic leadership from Babs Winds’er who chaired the league last year.

I could not be more proud to a part of such an amazing and inspiring group of people. We have come so far in the past 18 months and I know we are going to continue growing and getting stronger.”

Hell's Belles Team

A huge thank you and lots of derby love to everyone that supported us in 2015 and beyond.

The Belles will start their 2016 British Championship battle on Saturday 12th March in Leicester, where they will be taking on the mighty Seaside Sirens.  Every voice counts so come and cheer them on! See Facebook event  for details.

  1. Good Morning ,

On 30th September the Hertfordshire Students’ Union Freshers’ Fair will be taking place.

The Freshers’ Fair is an annual event that is held during Freshers’ week where newly arriving students acquaint themselves with us and all of our facilities as well as enrolling with the university and moving into their accommodation.

Our Freshers’ Fair gives you the chance to meet over 8,000 students and is an ideal, face to face opportunity to introduce yourselves. Students will still be developing their spending habits and it is at this time that they’ll be at their most receptive to new products and services. You can arrange for staff to attend these events armed with fliers and branded products to distribute, or collect student data to build your own marketing database. You can make a lasting impression and develop long term brand awareness. These students are potential lifelong customers.

We want you to get the best out of this event so we have several packages which are tailored to meet all of your needs. We offer different types of stall hire for the event as well as other things such as inserts in Freshers’ bags which are distributed on the day of the event. These packages are all listed in our media pack which I have attached. I have also attached a booking form, should you wish to go ahead and book any Freshers’ activities.

    What’s included?
A stand at this year’s Freshers’ Fair includes 2 x tables (a 6ft x 2ft space), with the option to add power at a chargeable rate of £20 + vat. (This is strictly not for charging laptops). We allow 2 members of staff per stall at a time. Back boards will not be provided. Chairs will also be available.

If you would like to attend this year’s Freshers’ Fair please fill out the booking form, found by following the link below and send it back to me.

Once I have received this form I will add your details to my Freshers’ Fair contacts.
*Please note your booking is not confirmed until we have received payment.

    Payment details
If possible, we ask for companies to raise a Purchase Order

Payment can also be made via a bank transfer or over the phone at the SU reception by card, or in cash to the SU finance office.
    – Finance will be in contact to confirm this after I have received your booking form.

Any questions – please let me know! I look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind Regards

  2. Hi Julie,

Many thanks for getting in touch, sounds like a fantastic opportunity. We’ve been part of your Freshers’ Fair previously doing skating demos and ended up playing a game of ba-skate-ball with your students! I’ll speak to the league and get back in touch with you by email.

    Kind regards

  3. How young do you guys train. My daughter is 5, but she loves roller skating, and loves rugby (tough as nails).

I really think she’d love the Derby.

    1. Hey Adam, so sorry for the late reply.
You have to be 18 to join us since Roller Derby is a full contact sport.
There are a few junior leagues around but, unfortunately the closest one to us maybe in Cambridge!
      Good luck!
